Element of the Gods · what changed in each beta release

2026-10-17 · Portrait frames

Character Sheet Beta 0.37

  • The level badge now hangs as a crest under the portrait instead of sitting on its corner, so it’s never cut off, and shows just the number.
  • Customize sheet opens as a panel on the right instead of a popup, so you see each colour, background and frame change on the sheet as you pick it.
  • “Build with AI” accepts messier AI replies: chatter before or after the JSON, code fences, trailing commas, and stray quotes inside text such as a height of 6’6".
  • Five portrait frames to pick per character under Customize sheet: Arcane, Gilded, Thornwood, Runestone and Infernal (or none).
  • The level badge got a matching fantasy shape for each frame (star, shield, leaf, rune-stone, hellfire) with a much bigger, brighter number.

2026-10-17 · Monster Cauldron layout

Monster Cauldron Beta 0.32

  • New two-panel layout: the editor keeps a comfortable width and the card preview gets the rest of the screen, so it’s bigger and easier to read.
  • Pasting a stat block now lives in a “Start from text” drawer that slides out and closes again once the text is parsed. The “Before you dive in” formatting tips sit at the bottom of it.
  • The card image moved into General Info as a thumbnail, and Armor Class, Hit Points, Speed, CR and XP share one row.
  • Works on phones without scrolling sideways.

Character Sheet Beta 0.32

  • Print / PDF is much more compact: smaller text, two columns and dark, readable ink. A typical character now fits on two pages instead of six. HP, AC and the other vitals are now printed, and buttons and empty boxes are left off. Unused spell slots and class resources print as empty boxes to tick at the table.
  • “New character” is now a button in the header, next to the character picker, instead of hidden in the “…” menu.

Vault Beta 0.3 · Monster Cauldron Beta 0.3 · Character Sheet Beta 0.3 · D&D Beyond Export Beta 0.3 · Adventure Creator Beta 0.2

  • Adventure Creator is the new name for the Map Maker.
  • New Fights tab in the Adventure Creator replaces the Encounter Builder page: save named encounters with a 2024-rules difficulty readout, keep them in your browser or as .encounter.json files, and place every monster on the map in one click. Your old Encounter Builder pool is brought over automatically.
  • Right-click a token to open its stat block, with rollable attacks and ability checks.
  • 3D dice in the Character Sheet and the Adventure Creator.
  • Ready-made Grassland, Desert and Stone floor maps, and a terrain choice for blank maps.
  • SRD 5.2.1 example monsters and magic items with silhouette art; the creature gallery can be sorted.
  • Character Sheet: spell slots and spells, features and traits, defenses, and editable attack and inventory lists.
  • New Arcane look across every page, and a new front page. Hover a tool card there to hear its tale.
  • The Character Sheet’s AI import no longer calls an AI service: copy its prompt into any AI chat yourself and paste the answer back.
  • “Tell us what you think” button on the front page for feedback.
