Some creatures in the pool have no CR or XP set on their card, so this total may be too low. Edit them in the Vault to add one.

More than two monsters per player can make combat swingy — the 2024 DMG suggests mixing in a few fragile, quick-to-drop creatures when you go that high.

Budget = the table value for the party's level × number of players, for Low/Moderate/High. Add up the XP of every creature in the pool (from each card's Challenge/XP field) and compare it to the budget — the 2024 DMG drops the old per-monster-count multiplier, so totals are summed directly.
